Mercy

Mercy short poem

Uploaded by Jamin Benjamin

The plan was thought out,
Execution nearly flawless,
In and out of the bank,
Two men so lawless.

Tellers shook, guns drew,
Security was a fill in,
The managers off too,
A day when no one could lose.

Twenty seconds too long,
The drop was upon them,
Bullets in a swan song,
Everlasting yet condemned.

Into the car, already hit twice,
Precious seconds looming,
Getaway car drifting right,
But something was soothing.

The loss of blood, a cold chill,
Old familiar death, taking the wheel,
Oncoming traffic, remove the mask,
Only for mercy left to ask.

The life of a bank bandit,
A robber by trade,
Taking to survive,
Dying to do the same.
