That Glory Still Awaits You

That Glory Still Awaits You short poem

I started on a journey
Irrespective of my fear
I aimed for the pinnacle
On my passion I would swear
I refused to relent
Thought my path was clear

I was blissful, full of inspiration
Ignorant in my approach
Seemed close to my destination
In my wait for glory
Started to seek false gratification
And a sudden tryst with reality
Withdrew all my determination

Perhaps there was a caution
That I chose to ignore
Life isn’t that easy
I took it as a chore
Anticipating my glory
I was diligent no more

This journey isn’t simple
Learn to make your own way
Life is very ruthless
There isn’t an easy day
Be a relentless warrior
Don’t give up in dismay
And the ‘glory’ that you seek
Still awaits you every day
