Someday short poem

Uploaded by Delores Noal

someday I won’t be there, to catch you when you fall
someday I won’t be there to answer your phone call

I won’t be close enough to hold you, when you need me to
to make you feel happy, when you are sad and blue

someday you will learn, to rely on no one but yourself
and you will be able to smile, at my picture on the shelf

you will be able to remember, the things that we went through
when your daughter calls you and says she needs you

you will pick her up, and dust her off every time she falls
and you will be there for her, every time she calls

you will hold her in your arms, when she is sad and blue
and your reward will come, when she says I love you
