A Better World

A Better World prose poem

The world is changing fast and with it the way people relate to one another
The manner in which people love their significant others is not to bother
Unless there is an ulterior motive like pleasure, wealth or fame to ponder
Today it is so rare to see people love one another for what they are like a true brother
Instead they are searching for only pleasures no matter if it means violating or taking advantage of a less experienced other
Everyone is just taking care of business as usual and nothing personal quite rather
And every conversation is about what they want and not nothing other
People rarely take the time to check on their friends and how are their lives any more simply as if that does not matter
Me, I am always ready to reach out and touch the lives of so many whose lives to me so much matter
And I shall never forget all who have touched my life in ways so significant and important and changed it for the better
And to those ready to betray a good friend for pleasure, wealth or fame I conserve a nasty sting like the thorn of a beautiful rose that is so much prettier.
