A Brief Encounter

A Brief Encounter short poem

I’ve waited all week to again see your face
To smell your perfume during lovers embrace
Hold your hand gently stare into your eyes
I whisper I love you the truth never lies
We look at each other with longing desire
Our Passion is searing like flames in a fire
We hug and we kiss and exchange flirting glances
We giggle and smile like in teenage romances
We plan our next meeting our secret endeavour
We dream of a future where love lasts forever
Where will we meet and what shall we do there
Many options are risky but if only we dare
The rewards can be endless worth taking a chance
Excitement and passion continued romance
Soon we must part brief encounter is ending
Re affirming our love with text messages sending
A final last kiss my emotions are soaring
My heart is on fire though outside rain is pouring
Sadness at parting the sorrow of leaving
Heart rending goodbyes are almost like grieving
I wave you farewell as you leave for the station
We’ll be forever together in our own imagination
