The Tango

You have to know how to properly dance the tango
To win the heart of the most handsome lady that you know
But just learn the tango to take a girl to bed
And you will disqualify as a real tango dancer and even the professionals will turn their ugly head
Yet it is true that the tango can turn any girl pregnant in New Year’s Eve
Because the tango dance has a marriage with the tango music so gorgeous to perceive
Originally of African descent this pretty dance comes from the same people that made the mambo
And even the first notes are like the ones in the tango
With both the words “tango” and mambo” descending from the Congo
But make no mistake it takes a lot of practice to dance it like a pro
And to truly conquer it you must learn how to put your partner in neutral and lead the show.

The Tango

The Tango short poem

Lips tremble like sentinels when legs burn like candles whole night, in the pocket a grenade explodes; a girl gets raped in broad day light to receive a compensation under a leaky roof of frozen hunger: the emptiness in bed
