In The After Life

In The After Life short poem

Abandoned by life he lies there
At the North West corner of a manor
Far from being alive, he gasps slowly.

His eyes are weary and can’t face the sun
There is no sweat, but a rotten smell lingers.
He who once lived a life, is waiting for his time.

He murmured his wish to the wind that was blowing South
Where they met when flowers blossomed every season.
She left him a note and found place among the stars.

Her memories are the only thing that made sense
and his mind wandered seeking pleasure in them.
He who lost his will can’t find peace, he realized.

Little late to go back, instead he wants to go further
Where he can start over holding her hand once again.
But something tells him life is unlike a circle.

Fear filled his heart and he gasped again
Tears rolled down and slowly he closed his eyes.
He could feel her presence calling him into her world.

Drop by drop painlessly life left him.
With that smile remaining, all else turned into ashes.
Yet they were happy ever after, in the after life.
