Stark short poem

Uploaded by Vivien Yap

I take off my colour.
Erase my eyes,
shrug off my brows,
polish my lips.

I take off my angles.
Inflate my jaw,
de-buff my cheeks,
puff out my nose

I scrub off my face.
Change my name,
darken my lungs,
cut out my heart.

I wring out my skin and craters
tessellate under a clear shower.

Just for fun, I join the dots
I once cut myself.

I am not pretty naked,
I was not told I should be.

A stylized statement of a poem. Cadence is nice, Somewhat in the line of the post-modernist poem. A brilliant one !
