Make your own footprints in the sand

When you walk through life and look back at your path in reflection,
You can see the path trodden through the sands in life, footprints in more than one direction.
It is easy to see the footprints left on this beach called life,
Sometimes the footprints are deepened as standing still amid the strife.
Conflict and contention happen to all as we walk our walk,
It would be great if there was a line to follow marked with chalk,
There are ups and downs valleys and hills for us to climb.
Choices are made by all on this walk and true some are a waste of time
But an important thought to always keep in your mind,
The path you take and marks you make are undefined.
In the Bible paths are taken and it tells a story,
Enoch walked with God and was taken up in glory.
The secret to success in life is to continue to walk and move forward,
Having your eyes towards the mark ever looking upward,
Even as your pace slows and you feel the struggle of climbing uphill.
For no footprints can be made or journey completed, while just standing still.
Standing on the beach, the waves still come and you become buried in the sand,
There is more to this life than just being still and taking a stand.
To stand still and be buried by this life takes no skill,
Always remember that no footprints are made by just standing still.
The enemy is around waiting for you and stalking,
The only way footprints cannot be made in the sand is by not walking.
