Temple Of Illusions

Temple Of Illusions long poem

Uploaded by Tilottama Pal

Yesterday I took a trip, I flew across the stars and galaxies
and landed on a planet just like ours-
Felt the waves wash me as I woke up,
Sunshine and bright happy clouds –
Grassy pastures,
Tall trees swaying to the rhythm of nature,
Everything in perfect harmony.
I stood up and gazed around, saw a path trail into the woods,
kept walking, by silent brooks
birds chirping happily,
a song, so familiar,
dried throat, I sought the rains and they arrived
in full throttle,
Pouring on and flooding,
Satiated I walked on,
soon I reached the base of a mountain –
steep climb it looked,
seemed fun,
Escalated that trek up,
the sun prepared for its homeward journey as I reached the end of directions
a view most wondrous –
Snow clad Mountains meditating in silence,
The Universe at this peak,
A panoramic heaven.
And then dusk set in –
I watched a million stars get lit – one at a time,
in a matter of seconds the valley below got draped in a constellation carpet
and the same overhead,
The clouds unfurled from within their hands the ocean of stars that it had so preciously protected through the day,
And then time stood still- hours passed by in this oneness.
I took the plunge –
a free fall – and in my descent, I saw millions of stars and the many galaxies touch me by,
The fall was resilient, dreamy and eternal.
and then there was a tug at my palms-
and up we flew, this time up, again through the stars and galaxies,
we dived in the enchanted pond amidst the mountains,
touched rock bottom,
held on to our breaths in that kiss of eternity till we surged up and out of the water,
swam through the underwater caves, in the light of the moon
We wandered & peregrinated.
Yesterday I took a trip, we glided across the stars and galaxies.
