A Father

A father will often overprotect his kids
And punish for them excessively till they are scared to bits
He will often be very harsh and tolerate no mistakes
And expect them to perform as perfect well above their heads
Yet this can create great anxiety in his poor children’s minds
Who, quickly learn to fear things of all kinds
And never develop defenses against those who commit dangerous crimes
He will rough them up and hope they will defend themselves against the bullies in their lives
When they give them not a chance to learn from scraping a knee
And instead they will learn to always be fearful and get ready to flee
Yet so many fathers are guilty of this plea
Having made so many mistakes like keeping their children so far away from risks
And not teaching their kids that it matters not when you fall but to get back up on your feet
So fathers, it is vital your kids learn how to handle risks and how to take care of their needs
Or they’ll turn out so anxious and confused they won’t know friend from creep
