To Die Of Love

There are those who love only if it does not require much sacrifice
Then there are those who love no matter what the price
To give only that which one has left over is no big deal
But to surrender even your life for love is loving for real
Even if love becomes but a lie
A true lover will give you even the stars in the sky
Some will put their own lives in the line for others
Much like no one can love their sons more than their mothers
A bond against which not even the worst humiliating agony can win a fight
For it is a mother that brings a child to light
And so shall a mother like nobody else defends her child against any evil that lurks in the night
And attached to that mother’s breast is a child born
So it knows not to ever be on its own
This love can inspire in the heart of a young man courage unknown
Like the one I once felt as I have grown
Blessed be the child that has some of this courage of his own
Thanks to a great mother that a mother’s courage her child has shown

Fail In Love

Fail In Love short poem

She was a traveling soul. The galaxy resting above her nose. I’d sit & stare. Wondering where the stars would go next. Both young & in love I let go. Tracing together swirls of color. The planets all together aligned.

Please take my hand, for I am blind. I’ve lost my path and my sense of touch. I’ve fallen, for my hands and feet are behind. Please let me hear, for all is in a hush. My wrist and ankles
