This day, that year! This day, that year!

This day, that year! This day, that year! long poem

Once again it’s that time of the year
When heart saddens and fills with emotions
Mind reminisces with thoughts of bygones
This day, that year! This day, that year!
Recalls that little voice from within

This day, that year! This day, that year!
Her soft, dainty warm hand in mine
A dance of love in her deep set doe eyes
Declaration of love, and sweet nothings murmured
A kiss on the hand, promises exchanged, never to part ever

This day, that year! This day, that year!
Arrived that wonderful day we both awaited
Solemnizing a relationship made in heaven
Ready to share a lifetime together, and
In each other’s arms, we fused our souls forever

This day, that year! This day, that year!
Waiting restlessly at the window, was she
For her beloved me, and the piece of paper I held
With tears of joy in her doe shaped eyes she read,
No more a girl was she, but a mother, as she read

This day, that year! This day, that year!
Her soothing hand caressed my forehead,
Her reassuring words caressed my soul,
‘Everything will be fine…’ she whispered in my ears,
While the devil within, held her to a ransom.

This day, that year! This day, that year!
On a waterbed, we did celebrate our day,
A little party with the loved ones by our side,
Doctors and nurses playing the honoured guests,
It was the last, nevertheless it was the best.

This day, that year! This day, that year!
With tears in her eyes she blessed me with happiness,
Took a promise that I would let her go with a smile,
Promised me that she will look over me at all times,
We wet our faces through that night.

This day, that year! This day, that year!
I looked in her glazed, lifeless eyes, hoping to catch the last dance,
I held her now cold hand, hoping to feel the warmth again,
I ever so gently kissed her fragile hand and yet again declared my love,
I kept my promise never to part, but ruthlessly she broke her’s and left.

This day, that year! This day, that year!
Memories keep rolling in like giant waves
And the voice keeps haunting me,
This time of the year, every year!
This day, that year! This day, that year!

(A tribute to a the loving departed soul and dedicated to the beautiful soul that inspired me to express my feelings in ode)

Doom’s Day

Doom’s Day short poem

The rapture was on prowl to get the believers. You knew what you should not have known about the baby blue. Aphasia, experiences an impulsive violence, beyond the dead. Bionic hands to capture the moment of swapping uremia with swastika.

I never knew that one day would be there When I would ask my existence from you One day I would beg you to apply vermilion on my forehead To name my child, to change my identity.. One day that
