A Brief History Of Time/ The Very Slow Time Machine

A Brief History Of Time/ The Very Slow Time Machine short poem

Uploaded by Andrew Darlington

I’ve become aware I can time-travel,
particle-physics has long posited this,
Stephen Hawking admits it’s possible,
even likely. It starts out this way,
drowsing on my front room sofa
TV tuned down, & in just a moment
an hour and a half has slipped by,
now, when replaying it, the ability
to time-travel was there all along
I swear I can recall things happening
far in the past, sometimes you were there too
at other times, you weren’t, so at points
along the time-track, we must co-exist
as though strangely content together,
I must’ve been time-tripping since birth,
across some 60 years witnessing events
that occurred throughout my life-span,
from a squirm of cells at my primal Big Bang,
off to school, then off to my retirement party,
soon bewildered as a drift of random DNA
at my bleak world’s end at
some point in future-time…
