Crawling

Crawling long poem

Photo by ZiarciRose

I felt like getting older with you
And that’s exactly what I wanted to do.
We came and threw it all away;
Another life, another day.

Come around and ask for more;
Spend a lifetime on the floor.
She lives her life in a ball of flames;
Just counting her way through all the pain.

It’s been like this since the day we were born;
Another life for you to mourn.
Now she is gone, underground;
Buried with you, deep, deep, down.

There is no Heaven for us, there is no ending in sight;
There is no vanity sponge, to clean away the tears we cry.
She is my pretty poison, she will kill me too;
But I will go out on a high, because I have been able to love you.

You were the best of us, now you’re lost to us,
But we never gave up on us; you never lost our trust.
You crawl into my arms and take your last breath;
In those eyes in which I used to see love,
Now I only see death.

You are the best part of me;
You make me be.
Our love doesn’t end in death,
It lives on forever in every breath.
