The Photo Op

The Photo Op prose poem

Standing in the bathroom
camera in her hand
she’s looking in the mirror
deciding how to stand

Just a little nervous
with not much on at all
she snaps the camera shutter
then lets the bathrobe fall

She puts a little pout on
and takes another shot
then leans across the sink top
and hides that sexy spot

She fluffs and fans her hair out
and lays across the sink
she tries to hide her candy
what would her mama think?

Just a few more pictures
and maybe one for him
does he think she’s really pretty
are her legs a bit too slim?

Oh, what was she thinkin’
why she’s only seventeen
what a stupid thing to ask me
I’m not a beauty queen

She hits the little button
and wipes out all the files
then wraps the robe around her
unlocks the door and smiles.
