When It Rained!

When It Rained! short poem

Uploaded by arpita dutta

It was a chain of carnival
Celebrations for Mother’s home coming
Trailed by a hubbub light festival
Then father’s gifts started pouring

But there was no rain….

It was a new day, date and year
And that mesmerizing note of Cuckoo humming
Then it was love in the air
Blossom all around as the Season was spring

But there was no rain….

It was a regular sunny day
And I was sipping on my cup of tea
When a bed of dark lump covering the ray
appeared right on top of me

And then it rained….

The tiny drops kissed my cheeks
soothed my soul, heart and mind
The fresh earthy fragrant after sundry weeks
Which I wish to play in rewind
