Stars Under My Feet

Stars Under My Feet long poem

Holding back – tears,

Holding back – all reservations.

Holding back – all my questions..

With a broad smile..

And a promise to be back..

Touched the cheeks,

Kissed the forehead

Bid goodbyes..

And didn’t turn back,

To see your eyes,

That were longing, just a glimpse.

I didn’t,

Not because, it doesn’t matter..

But because – I don’t want you to see…

My tears rolling down..

Hope you would know –

It matters a lot.

I collected my money..

The purse tucked,

Some papers beneath,

The ticket..

And of course a proof along with it,

To prove my being..

And stepped into this sphere,

Where everyone is rushing,

And making their way to somewhere..

Arriving to some point,

And leaving a few.

Name is called,

Announcements made,

Gates checked

And boarded.

Slowly, as you leave the touch of the ground,

And come closer to infinity,

Slowly closing my eyes,

I chase all my thoughts,

I fight all my dreams,

I walk the path of nowhere, bliss,

And feel the dark, immense.

Someone called my name, it seems.

Someone tried to reach me,

Someone tried to wake me up,

Or put me back into the world of illusion, I was about to feel..

I open my eyes,

And look from my window..

And I realize,

I have woken up with stars under my feet..
