Do You Know The Real Me

Do You Know The Real Me short poem

Uploaded by Delores Noal

life has made me happy, and it’s made me blue
it has given me a reason to act the way I do

I’ve been loved and lied to, been beaten and abused
made to feel needed, and made to feel used

it’s experiences have been painful, in oh so many ways
but they have made me stronger and held me up on many days

To some I may seem unfeeling, they think I really don’t care
But do they know the real me? No, they wouldn’t dare

To ask me why so cynical, am I hiding something?
No,what they are seeing, is the real me

I don’t pretend to be someone else, or something I am not
When treated with respect and love, I will gladly return the emotion

I don’t want to be hurt again, my tears would fill an ocean

The love I have with my children, has given me the happiness I seek, nothing can ever erase that, compared to it, everything else is weak

So before you say my name again, do you know the real me?

The Orchestra And Me prose poem

I had a dream last night. It was very concise but interesting. Rather revelatory, but not prophetic in the usual way. There was a class with a facilitator encouraging input based on a lesson plan provided to the class. I,
