Kiddo In The Well

Kiddo In The Well short poem

Photo by Kylie_Jaxxon

She’s just a child,
Lost in her own world.
A dream not hers by right,
The world full of laughter and joy ;
Enlightenment he did give.
Yet she lives in two worlds;
One, carefree and so much of love to give,
Another, with eyes on hunger and so much of love to give.
But time gave her tears,
Stopped the smile and face reality;
His view!
A time to realize, he did not care at all.
Her fault that she’s not matured?
Her love measured by a flip of a coin!
She can’t fight back,
She can’t protest;
She’s just a Kiddo in the well.
Sank deep and deeper,
Into the well;
His world.
But she’s not to be part of it,
She’s not to have a say;
She’s thrown back to her well.
If only she could explain,
If only he would listen;
If only the time was right.
But none of it fit in,
She’s just a Kiddo in the well.
