Sunsets short poem

What I would give to be able to let this feeling go to share my thoughts with you

so that there is nothing you wouldn’t know
to have my mind bare for your heart to feel and my words raw
 for your ears to hear

But, my lips are chapped from the hot air
 and my hair is stiff
 from the salty waves

and your sun kissed darkness is hit by the evening sun
and your eyes like melting rock, stare into mine
my words are lost,

they are taken back out to sea with the rest of those unsaid words
left on the shores of sunset beaches
that for a second gave people the courage

to let their emotions show
but as soon as the sun has gone all hope is lost,
we shall see what tomorrow’s sunset brings.
