They Were Once With Us

They Were Once With Us short poem

Uploaded by mike chipofya

Like rains in spring they came to us
A blessing they were to us
Like extra-terrestrials we treated them
Not knowing that all they wanted was to help
We always turned our backs on them
Our right hand they were
But ‘ignoramus’ we labelled them
They were once with us

We celebrated because they were once with us
They tried to teach us many things
But we were too shy to learn
For that we shall always take the blame
Gone are the days we spent with them
And only memories are what we are left with
Cries and regrets are the songs we sing now
Through them the word came true
And due to their actions history was written
They were once with us

Just Once long poem

Clinging to fragments of memories, I search for love here and there, Walking the shores of eternal hope, But I sink in the sea of despair Just once, let me hear love speaking In a language known to no ear;
