Magical Sleep

Magical Sleep short poem

Thank the stars
I whispered
You slept well
Last night

Thank your stars
You feel fine
To run around
And cook your food

Thank your stars
Your heart beats
Without sadness today
And the mind is at rest

Thank your stars
Your body listens
To your tunes
I whispered

For your stars
Fought hard for that sleep
You missed
For years

When your mind buried
In machines pumping
Whirling thoughts

Your heart felt heavy
All the time
And the sighs
Never stopped

When your breath
Was shallow
Like a lump
Constant in your chest

The days when you
Felt empty
Too lethargic
To walk away from the bed

The blanket felt cosy
Like a fog on your mind
Like a stone in your heart
Like the darkness in your life

But last night
Was different
Your stars fought hard
For that sleep

That appears like magic
The healing has begun

Nice rhythm and imagery. It has soft lullaby like quality, evokes a sort of euphoria.
