Does anyone else lie awake at night,
Silently putting the world to rights,
Wondering if they should get out of bed,
Or keep on trying to sleep instead.

It’s December and I seem to think it’s funny,
To think about the Easter Bunny,
The January sales will start next week,
My kitchen ceiling’s beginning to leak.

I must remember I need to shop,
Afraid to starve then realise I’m not,
Slim or in danger of fading away,
Maybe I’ll start my diet today.

I’m sure I seen some dust on the table,
I think I’ll get up while I’m still able,
I might as well hoover up too,
I know I’ve got so much to do.

I wonder what is on TV,
I’ll turn it on, just to see,
Ooh I like this programme on,
Oops, another hour has gone.

I’ll start my Xmas shopping online,
A year early, it’ll be on time,
Amazon Prime or a bid on Ebay,
I’m a little worried for what I’ve just paid.

I start to feel like I’m slowing down,
My head is no longer spinning around,
I decide to climb back into bed,
Then realise it’s time to get up instead!!
