Walking Like A Zombie

Walking Like A Zombie short poem

I walk through the halls and streets like a zombie empty and alone
Wandering aimlessly around curious if she knows I exist.
“The past is the past,” they say but the pain is still pain,
They also say, “The heart wants what the heart wants”
But nobody seems to understand what it’s like to lose.
Does she remember the way we used to be or has she forgotten me?
All I try to do is to get my friends to see the good within
Even though she has put me through hell.
As we pass each other I can’t even look up to say hi,
I just look down to hide the pain of what was and will never be.
Every now and again I feel as if I should be like Lionel Richie and say hello,
Then I remember that it would be followed by a goodbye.
My friends say let her go but letting her go is losing a piece of me that I’m not ready for.
I walk through the halls and streets like a zombie empty and alone
Wandering if after all this time, it’s time to go.

Tonight the nectar will be spread to tame a random tormentor. Black and white, I never saw my father weeping. Lonely he was. I am my own creation today weather beaten. Confession to – confession, unread. When the- storm was

Tell It Like It Is

Tell It Like It Is long poem

Again I wake in this wretched place Where the devil glares with grimaced face Reading my heart, stripping it bare Savoring the scent of the secrets there I’m slipping and sliding, the ice too thin Carefully creeping, lest I fall

Just Like A Pearl

Just Like A Pearl short poem

Truth you seek, Character you weave The beauty you perceive, with the eyes austerely. Respect you earn, sacrifice and yearn Leaders you breed, Monarch unveiled. Mother, sister, lover or daughter The legacy you leave of your charismatic nature and affection

Like An Old Song

Like An Old Song short poem

Walking in mental fog, you become a swaying tree. In mistiness one becomes lonely like a blackbird. Hollyhocks would wait, till the sun comes out. December rain brings the gift― of sleet on lips. ————————————– Walking in mental fog, you

Like Gold

Like Gold short poem

The man of her life treats her like gold, So she cries Because she knows Her secrets would break him inside And would crush his soul, So to protect him she lies As her secrets are something that she holds
