Revery Of Her Soul

Revery Of Her Soul long poem

The setting sun had kindled the sky with oranges and reds
Wobbling her way through the tactless crowd was a demure girl
Avoiding the condescending eyes of the monsters upon her
she tried to escape from the brutal reality
Yet the native girl couldn’t do so
The demons fed on her misery
The intoxicated blood running through her veins had made her lily-white body incapable of surviving in this murky world
Those deep dark brown almond eyes that once glistened like stars had now lost their glint..
Her breathtaking smile was now replaced by an unwavering frown
Her once alluring lips could have sent anyone’s heart into frenzy with a kiss
Eschewing the lascivious grin of men, she tried to feign a bold expression
She could see her blurry naked image in their prurient eyes and with that a cigarette kissed her parched lips
She looked even more ethereal as she puffed out a great cloud of soft cigarette smoke
She had become a paradigm of a boozed up coquette for the beholders of the society

The consequences of her lover’s betrayal were the reason for her unfathomable self-immolation
A perfidious lover
Her trust was his weapon
A snake he was
His words were like venom
With his love decoy he vanquished her mind, body, soul and heart..
Looking through her eyes into her heart
So gingerly,
Had he devised his treacherous charm to slaughter everything inside her
All that now remains are the indelible canoodle marks on her body
The scars that narrate the plight of her unrequited love

Deceived in the past..lethal drugs were now her present
Overdose of this panacea had numbed all her senses
Her mind was just too familiar with escape now, unwilling to face the reality
Her body swings carelessly
Her legs have refused to walk away
Nothing was visible to her except a diaphanous sheet of bitter sweet memories
His arms were warm
But now she could only feel the warmth of a smoker’s breath

In a jiffy her haggard body collapsed
Her midnight black hair fell on her face which had turned deadly pale
Not a soul was there to help her,
No one cared enough to notice,
Behind that beautiful illusion was a breaking heart
Just as she was falling into oblivion, she remembered her lover, his smirks, and wondered where had it all gone wrong
She opened her eyes one last time before plunging into an eternal trance where death awaited her with open arms
She didn’t hesitate before stepping into his embrace and finally our girl of great pulchritude was at peace..

I love her. I love hearing her voice,  seeing her smile, staring into her eyes, and loving her. I love her. If I could I’d do every thing with her; sleep, eat, walk, play, live. I only want to be
