“The Dream Lives in Me”
I have a dream which flows in me
I know is not going to be easy
I know I have to face some trials
I know the path seems so rough
but I have vowed to live with it
but not to die with it
whatever it takes I must survive.
as I walk through the pit of man
I know my garment’s going to stain
but this has given me the divine path
every time I talk of it to the sons of man
it seems unattainable to them
because they are men of little faith and hope
but I never put my dream on
their line of judgment
for my hope and faith always bright and strong.
many times I get scolded by the word of man
I laugh and I said I have a dream.
when the fear of man torment me
I asked myself is it real?
do I feel inferior to the dream?
but my heart is so strong.
as I hold the pole of faith
and I sing the song of hope
I know and I feel am not alone
because my existence has a reason
being black has a purpose
fortunately from Nigeria has an objective.
as I stand for the people
I know the people stand for me
you may ask me when?
you may ask me how?
I will always tell you tomorrow
because tomorrow is always tomorrow
has long am still breathing
I know I have a dream and purpose
sometimes it seems so indefinite
sometimes it seems unattainable
sometimes it sound so idealistic
but this is my blood
it flows in my vein
until I die my dream is realistic
until I die my dream is definite
until I die my dream is attainable
because I am the dream
the dream lives in me.
