Mirror In My Backyard

Mirror In My Backyard prose poem

In my reverie I live
And reality is only a reflection
In the mirror in my backyard
Redemption is what I seek today
Cos’ yesterday was drenched in sins
Memories keep me awake all night,
A walk through woods and talk
with the wild, that grew like it belongs
Would have set it right long before.

In my reverie I live
And reality is only a reflection
In the mirror in my backyard
Resurrection is what I seek today
Cos’ yesterday was inner mayhem
Grass grew around it and stains
Marked its era, but reflection of faith
kept the shine glistering through the breach.
Leading me into the rhyme and bring
out the song of the nightingale from
the lost world of hope to light.

In my reverie I live
And reality is only a reflection
In the mirror in my backyard
Recovery is what I seek today
Cos’ yesterday was broken wings
And I drew a mystique line around
For soaring dreams fly beyond
And now I feel protected
by the clarity of reflection
In the backyard of every man
And masses dwell in their halo
That separate the evil in them and
Give their chance to live again
When they were born, sinless
Such is the Mirror in my backyard.
