I’ve Been Led To Believe

Ive Been Led To Believe long poem

I’ve been led to believe
That love is a dream
An inconsistent need
Or that was how it seemed
I was told it’d be perfect
I was told and left set
With a thought of divergent
And words better yet
My beliefs were uncanny
And always without form
I was left like so many
Needing something to confirm

Then an angel found her way to me
And all I knew was peace
But a yearning I have never known before
Whispered its way into me
It spoke of perfect memories
Of loves that yet have been
And all the need spilled into me
Our pasts together I had seen
Life upon life we followed through storms
And life upon life we were one
Every moment we had in our love
Was a moment perfectly done

That is when my persona changed
That is when I awoke
That is where I found my real name
It was every word that she spoke
I could not believe her beauty
My eyes could not behold it all
I was without words, but three
Those words made my heart stall
Now beliefs I have of perfection
And goals that I must reach
I have never known hope like this
It’s not something you can teach

My love will eternally belong to you
But my soul has always been thus
I promise forever I’ll fight for you
And I promise I’ll fight for us
