Heartland short poem

Uploaded by Stanly Samuel

No sooner had the crooning of birds
Help me ease off the bed in regularity,
Than made me sad, of having to wake upto it
For a final time.
The mornings spent in sleep,
Were painful hours of indecision,
As I battled with the choice to live among people,
Happy and content,
Joyous people whose lives remain abstained
From making a choice to migrate
To foreign shores and brightened prospects
Or follow a culture
Prevalent through decades of migrant hardships
Witnessed through the flying eyes of those in flight,
And in floating vessels over the Arabian Sea.
As the predicament of living my days in the little of the man made fauna,
And more in parental love, fail to entice the spirit,
I wait to even live a deserted life
In familiar shores
