Intolerance short poem

To the days that found acceptance readily,
With hair all curled and ribboned up,
And face all To the up,
By smacks of baby powder,
Now cherubic cheeks all but missing,
A big black polka dot.
To the days now that have bargained time,
For something as precious as innocence,
For something as misconstrued as nagging,
And what has the poor man got in riches,
A life full of endless first found memories,
Of the magic that was never repeated…,
