Rosanne

Rosanne long poem

All dressed up in black just like her daddy
The man in black, she followed in his footsteps
But became a legend in her own time, she
Sings a lot of his songs but writes most of her
Own, on his old Gibson guitar and now it’s
On the road for the summer one more time
But this time she is more at peace with
Herself than she has been in a long, long time
After all she is a Gemini of a genius storytelling
Mind…
Oh ROSANNE like a rose in the golden sunshine
ROSANNE like a raven against the deep blue sky
ROSANNE just like a gentle wind through the
Mountain pines oh ROSANNE like Venus and the
Apple of every man’s eye…
Well she is one in a million with the voice of an
Angel from up above, she’s a little bit rock-n-roll
Or a ballad nice and slow, feeling the man in black
Watching down on her from up above…
Oh ROSANNE like a rose in the golden sunshine
ROSANNE like a raven against the deep blue sky
ROSANNE like a soft and gentle wind blowing
Through the Memphis pines, ROSANNE like Venus
And the apple of every man’s eye…
ROSANNE angel in black and now she’s back…
Everybody loves ROSANNE, everybody loves
ROSANNE CASH!
