That You And I Existed

That You And I Existed prose poem

Uploaded by Rana

Looking at the starry sky on this new moon night
Standing on this endless field of grass
Everything else but one seems important,
That you and I existed together, ever so entangled,
For however brief a while on the timeline of the skies.
That you and I shared the same adventures
Through wilderness, and mountainous countries,
Through river gorges and atop sky-high glaciers,
Amid lepers and outcasts, singing around bonfires with Bohemians
And vagabonds like us, sleeping cuddled within each other,
Me staring at your beautiful eyes and you feeling my bearded cheek.

Looking at the purple and blue lights of the milky-way
Lighting up my face on this new moon night
Just one thing matters Portia,
That our wildness blossomed from your womb on to
This field of sprawling endless green,
And he grows as strong as a banyan tree with every passing moment.
You and I will be stardust soon Portia,
But what will echo in the distant hills is
That you and I existed together, ever so entangled,
For however brief a while on the timeline of the skies.
That no one can take away from us, Portia.
