High Hopes

High Hopes prose poem

Well I have HIGH HOPES in my heart today
Lady luck is on my side in a big, big way
I just know in my heart and soul certain
Kind of magic is doing a circle dance around me
Giving birth to all the dreams and wishes I’ve
Ever made, call me crazy but I don’t care
What you say, I know, I just know lady luck is
On my side in a big, big way and I have the
HIGH HOPES, HIGH HOPES in my heart today…
Even if it’s the dead of winter, January all dressed
Up in a dark grey, I feel like I’m in overdrive, looking
On the bright side, I can feel a fire deep, deep down
Inside and it’s been a long time since I’ve felt this
Alive in the arms of a younger lover who’s been on
My mind for a long time but I just knew you’d be mine
Someday, I’m just a little psychic that way and today
Lady luck is on my side in a big, big way
I just know in my heart and soul a certain
Kind of magic is doing a circle dance around me
Giving birth to all the dreams and wishes I’ve
Ever made, call me crazy but I don’t care
What you say, I know, I just know lady luck is
On my side in a big, big way and I have the
HIGH HOPES, HIGH HOPES in my heart today…
Even if I can’t make it down these Blue Ridge
Mountain roads because of all this ice and snow
I just know today’s gonna be a good day, today’s
Gonna be a good, good day…
I just found out my aunt Lillie left me a few million
In her will and I didn’t think she even liked me now
I got more money than even my grandchildren can
Ever spend, who can ask for more than maybe a long
Life before it all comes to an end but for today, it’s been
One hell of a day and it’s still not over and so that
Makes me wonder what other sweet, sweet things
May be coming my way…
Well there’s just a certain kinda magic doing a
Circle dance all around me, giving birth to all the
Dreams and wishes I’ve ever made, call me crazy
But I just don’t care what you say, Lady Luck is on my
Side now in a very big, big way and I have the highest
Of HIGH HOPES, HIGH HOPES in my heart today and
I know, I just know today’s gonna be one hell of a
Great day of many day’s to come my way…
