Endless Wait

Endless Wait prose poem

Uploaded by Ramapriya Nr

The young romantic couple dreamt of moon light meet
He was all in Ecstasy as the night started setting in
with the Milky moon gradually balooning on the horizon
He was on cloud nine dreaming of his beloved anticipating her arrival
His endless wait for her gradually turned into despair and frustration
The romantic night gradually faded out
The traumatic day started setting in
The Darkness completely melted out
while the morning mist moved in and
still there was no trace of her
The sparkle in his Eyes gradually dwindled
The glittering stars over the skies vanished
All that heated up emotions in him
started cooling and freezing down and
still there was no trace of her
He felt restless waiting for her the whole night
Those colourful moments gradually turned into black
Even the cool breeze changed its course in frustration
His anger and frustration reached the skies
and he cursed her for breach of promise
In frustration he vowed not to speak to her again
As he was walking back home in anguish in the misty morning
he stumbled on a sleepy damsel holding his photo tight in her arms
She was lying still with heap of blood freezing out from her head
He patted and shouted at her to wake her up but like
darkness of night disappearing out she too had disappeared from this world
His pledge not to speak to her for ever became a reality
