Take A Bite!

Take A Bite! short poem

Take a bite out of life
Go on, sense it coming towards you
Sniff its tantalising possibilities
Then snap off a crisp, clean chunk
Bite down on its crunchy sweetness
Chomp it into smaller and smaller pieces
That swirl around in your mouth
Spreading flavours and sensations
Chew and swallow its deliciousness
Savouring every last tang and succulence
Lick your tongue around your teeth
Seeking out any lingering morsels
Holding the taste and the pleasure of it
For as long as possible then,
Before you let it slide into a distant memory –
Go on!
Take another bite!

I can't remember when I didn't write poems but as I've got older, I find they spill into my head, often at inconvenient times of the morning! I use to write them on my way to work, hence the title of my blog, but now I've given up to go trekking around in a campervan with my husband. Plenty of time to reflect on the world, though I don't claim to understand it any better....

Take Me As I Am short poem

You say I’m rebellious. That it’s just a phase. But please listen to me when I tell you, that’s not the case. Some say I’m despicable, that I’ve lost my morals, but I’m not the only one, that their words
