Solemnity

Solemnity short poem

Most dabbled indulgences
are not means to any end

Attempts just plain perhaps
for old afflictions to mend

Each day breaks new dawn
again onto the cyclical night

Waited more than my share
for reversal of chronic plight

Weary of continual situation
how wish could do without

A credible past subsistence
now stands veiled in doubt

Entrenched morose tedium
over long period got beset

Clandestinely it burgeoned
putting susceptibility to test

Perpetrators played victims
me lumbered with all blame

I still kept on playing along
in a no win situation game

If this is what the life serves
have conceded to the deal

With cards held my closest
only the future will reveal
