The Waiting short poem

The railway track was alone today,
No whistling train, no passenger on their way,
I sat there watching for long, no baggage, no gong,
The light post flickered more than every day,
I held his post card from the distant he sent,
Double checked the date he had wrote,
Waited long from scorching three to breezy five,
I held my tears on the corners of my eyes,
No signal turned green, no wheels vibrated the lines,
Then in the dimming lights I stood up, started to walk,
The postcard still pressed tight in my hands,
Long and deadening walk it was, with broken hopes,
In this small town, I was lost, and struggled to walk,
Where are you? Was all on my thoughts,
Somehow I reached home and with shivering hands I opened the lock,
In the dying evening, everything around me stopped,
Then when I was about to sit in the chair that rocked,
I heard at door, somebody knocked,
I rushed towards the door and….
