I Crossed The Ocean For You

I Crossed The Ocean For You short poem

I used up half year’s saving
and crossed the ocean just for you
For this hard-won rendezvous
I even rehearsed breathing at sight of you

I failed to express my love
even one thousandth to you
This regret tortured me badly
and robbed me of my sleep

Memory accumulates by the passage of time
and finds its forever home in my poor mind
For your promise to spend the future with me
I hold back my tears even in the loneliest time

In that city, around that corner
we gently comforted each other
and we hugged tight and sighed
regardless of how fast time flied

I remember I saw you off in a dreary windy day
Your evanescent figure made me cry hard in vain
How I wish I could freeze the frame at that moment
so as to pretend I had accompanied you to the end

Hi, everyone. I am a Chinese. Actually I am a major in bioengineering, but I developed a hobby of reading and writing English poems when I was in college. I got to know highonpoems by chance on twitter, it's a marvellous website for me and my like.
