Renegade prose poem

She is a renegade, it’s written in her DNA
Rebellion sparkles within her lime green eyes
Her blood pulsates with the urge to adventure
Beyond the bland, homogenous modern culture

At teenage, all girls would enjoy a little mirror-time
With her treasured collection, her vanity’s confession
A young lady fishes out a little golden tube
As she rotates the circular base clockwise in allegro
A petit cherry red hill emerges and grows
She leans forward and examines her succulent lips
She paints the opulence onto her perfect kiss
She fills with delight, admiring her glamour

But for our girl, she stares in disgust and horror
Nauseous at the frivolousness of make-up
As if one’s goal in life was to have a pretty face
Self-esteem and confidence have gone to waste

Her spit of disdain carved her out from the rest
She was not average, she was a renegade
Her vermillion locks speak not of conformity
For her faith roots in fresh audacity

Girls are always synonymous with pink
They are docile and enjoy gentle happenings
Some activities are dominated by females, like
Ballet dancing, sewing, choral singing
They play Bieber and 1D all day and night
Every girl loves jewelery and a sweet, musky spray
She can laugh and party the whole day away.

But, all of these disinterest her
Mainstream singers bore her to tears
Popular for no reason, saturated childishness
Yet they attract her friends like magnets
She picks up her glossy carmine electric guitar
An ode to music, and the infatuated, near or far

Her favorite is rich hue of midnight blue
The pristine tranquility that water the fields
The calmness and serenity of the Constellations
The quiet inner fire of a distant bright star

The radiance matched with the blaze within
She recognizes the flames right from the start
It gets her blood racing dangerously fast
For indigo is the flag for the renegade at heart.

Semi-sweet and a little nutty. Introverted, socially awkward, but still easy-going and loves penning short legacies in poetry. Big on all things red, and passionate about music. Down-to-earth and enjoys short walks in mother nature's embrace. Smile people, today's going to be a great day. Try stuff you've never tried, go places, venture abroad and live a life you will remember.
