Happiness

Happiness long poem

To those profound little eyes every gesture espy,
The tiny mind suspects all odd
Alike little Alex was, with his ceaseless questions,
Made people go “Oh my god”

Tossing his schoolbag, rushing towards the kitchen,
That day Alex asked ‘Mom, can money buy every joy?’
Occupied mother, replied in bewilderment,
‘No, who told you that boy’

Said little Alex, ‘The beggar at the roadside was screaming ’bout.’
Mother could discern his utter confusion and concern,
And the necessity of deciphering his doubt

‘Come sit here, I will explain’
Told mother, chucking her household chores,
‘Money can satisfy needs, but can’t buy real happiness,
Stock as many crores’

‘Real happiness?’ Asked he
‘Which not only rupture eyes, but heart and soul,
Which lies in giving, not always gaining
Which will motivate you to attain your goals.’

‘So remember boy, don’t let yourself drown in the gloomy sea,
For positivity attracts joy.
Never to a moaner,
It comes to those who endure and enjoy.’

Asked alex again, ‘But why can’t we stay,
Forever happy and enchanted?’
‘So that we realise its value in miserable times,
For happiness is a treasure, not to be taken for granted.’

Concept is well delineated. Style is unique. Shows the inquisitiveness of the kids and the pious duty of the parents to remove their doubts and show them the right way. Good Saloni. Keep writing…….
