Now I Am Loved

Now I Am Loved prose poem

Sleep becomes an enemy, Sadness a close friend.
Hiding pain so eagerly, Trying to see this till the end.
Sorrow builds in her chest, Pain is left in her bed.
Her nights so restless, Sad girl left for dead.
What is it that she can’t face, Her life she blames.
The innocence her brother takes, With every touch she is left in shame.
She gets older still no one to hold her, Lost her father then her mother.
Runaway from who she is leaving behind that weak kid, everything she wanted she never did.
All she knew was her body, A lovely girl dying slowly.
She breaks the self love she has, Life is like walking on broken glass.
Broken girl it goes, Slipping away another overdose.
Now tears turn to blood, She drowns herself in her own flood.
Mirrors reflect a monster, But others see beauty they all crave her.
Do you hear her suicidal thoughts, She is left dying on that cross.
Dark bodies covers her soul, Another to come and go.
Shadows run wild in her head, Replaying every soul she took in.
But they all look to judge, Never knowing she was a little girl left with no love.
They don’t know all she ever craved, Is the one thing that always betrayed,
And with each one she always dies another day.
She’s taken in each time, Each one leaves her dying.
While they just sat and judged, Never saw the girl only wanted love,
She laid with a smile in the tub, Bleeding the last bit of blood,
Looking up saying ” now I am loved “.
