Polite Pigtails

Polite Pigtails short poem

The days are dark and bleak
Nights cold , crushed and coy
A twinkling star just smiles by
Soars my heart with joy!

The hut that I live in
Vacant , vague and wry
Mother’s hand on forehead
Comfort in silent cry!

No future I seek for me
No planner dated ahead
World is where the school is
Head swinging when I read!

Relations are simple math
But people are complicated
Childhood was endless playground
Adolescent became gated!

That moment of euphoria
When village fair approaches
Dresses colour coordinated
Buckles , braids and broaches!

A bit later
Pigtails turned to purdah
Laughter seeks some life
Burden married to someone
Daughter transformed to wife!

A woman I have become
Cooking and changing nappy
In this small universe of me now
I still find moments to be happy!

A Polite Entreaty

A Polite Entreaty short poem

Once it touches it savors, A specialty or a perfect taste, A succulent prep it favors, Abhors that morsel gone waste. Inferno, when spruced with spice Addictive, when trickled sweet, Arctic, when met with ice, Articulate, when prudent and upbeat!
