Greed And Happiness

Greed And Happiness prose poem

Uploaded by Ramapriya Nr

Allow not your mind to stray
If it is not tied to your self respect
it sure runs amok and create havoc

Aspire not for illegal wealth
you get deprived of your own worth

The urge to amass easy money
is sure to make your mind Topsy Turvy

Nothing gives most satisfaction to your mind
than to control and limit desires within your means

Greed for sure drives one out of senses
while contentment drives one to be selfless

Fight to snatch the extra share in property
will surely land one outside the boundary of the people concerned
while the gesture of giving up the extra share
will bring in the warmth and goodwill of the people around

When the hand stretches to Give,
the mind will set to glow brighter and brighter
while if the hand stretches to take
the mind will surely shrink smaller and smaller

The self respecting one will ever feel happy by not accepting favors
while the greedy will never be happy without accepting favors

A wonderful poem, it is in our hand to be greedy or to spread happiness, by sharing happiness and spreading happiness we ourselves become happy whereas our greed makes us always a beggar, wanting more and more and takes us nowhere……thought provoking poem indeed…..regards
