Looking For Each Other

Looking For Each Other short poem

Uploaded by Carmen Shantipriya

Looking for each other
Hands trapped in long tresses,
mouths thirstily biting other’s words
even before on the lips to be born,
eyes looking the zenith in other’s eyes’ depths –
the thirst for each other is relentless
and it is never relieved.
I am looking for you, you seek me,
but we find just two halves bleeding longings;
I forgot that I’m a torn piece of you
and you forgot
that in my boundlessness you wander.
Each step made in searching for the other
thrusts a dagger into the love’s flesh.
Forced to split into two, love bleeds-
bitter blood of wandering and
of the feverish desperation of searching.
None of us can hear the stillness calling home,
nor the silence blatantly playing the flutes of our bones.
The echo of union’s remembrance smashes on the heart’s walls
like bells painfully calling to reunification-
their vibrations tear us, scattering us across thousands of paths
because in this world the running has no cessation.
Our looking for each other will never stop…
never…
ever..
Why did we forget that we are whole and only one?
Forever? It does not exist!
It doesn’t exist “two” out of time!!
