How Much?

After all how much food
A man needs?
Only nine morsels a day
Then why so much hoarding
Of grains and foods?

After all how many pairs
A man needs?
Only two pairs a day.
Then why so much
Unnecessary collection?

After all how many houses
A man needs?
Only a roof to live under
Then why so many mansions?

After all how much territory
A ruler needs?
Only one that he inherited.
Then why so much aggression
Pushing the meek into depression?

After all how much land
A man needs?
Only two yards to rest in peace
Then why so much acquiring
And grabbing of lands?

When one leaves this planet
For one’s heavenly abode,
Just peep into his palms
Empty handed the hoarder goes.

Dr.Bhardwaj sir a very thought provoking poem, there is only one answer to all your whys and that is “the greed of man” no matter how much a man has, greed follows him like his shadow and he tries to accumulate more than he needs, never realising by doing so he is becomes an enemy to the society, to the nation and to the humanity as a whole……..the want and the hunger for more and more makes human worse than animals……..atleast animals dont attack when their stomach is full but man!!!!! the less said the better…..nice poem sir……regards

Your poem speaks the truth of life and death-we come here with nothing, we leave her the same. Thank you for your poem.

Puberty A time of confusion It feels like a delusion With no coordination No organisation Puberty A time to love and hate You grow at an alarming rate Many need someone to help motivate Others are a little bit late

We Left Too Much Behind

We Left Too Much Behind short poem

We left too much behind. A milky moon floating in our coffee Unbuttoned thoughts A mason jar filled with sunshine, And words. Words that still float mid air waiting to be spoken, incomplete, cracked, dusty Do you remember any? And

How Much Of Us Is Up To Us?

How Much Of Us Is Up To Us? prose poem

Do we really have free will, or are we preprogrammed to be who we are to be? Being born a boy or a girl did we have any say? Hormones in my body that motivate were not ordered by me.
