Impatience

Impatience short poem

Uploaded by Jeanne Fiedler

This crazy condition
that time is going backwards
then flying forwards
No time for me to
live in the present
The moment of power,
assertion, and revelation

I stop to catch my breath
always rushing in turmoil
The present can sometimes
feel so fierce – fighting me
with unhappy events
I don’t want to see

Got to slow down
take my time – pace myself
I’m fearful…oh so afraid
the progress I’ve made
will suddenly collapse
come crashing down
like a lightning bolt

Catching my breath
I sit down to reflect
on the beauty of life
and the journey outwards
moving in the moment

I look at the gifts I’ve captured
hold them in my hands
opening them to look
at the golden rays
caught by the sun
I stop to rest my eyes
on the infinite beauty
there in the present second
