Love-an Unbidden Commitment

Love is a powerful thirst,
The basic chemistry,
Promoting feelings
Of a survival instinct.

It has many guises,
With emotional variations,
Intimacy of passion,
In a deep bond.

Often one-sided commitment,
Always arriving unbidden,
Without passion, a mere dedication,
That dies if not nurtured.

Love deprived becomes obsession,
An all consuming physical pain,
It sets free yet binds,
In unconditional love.

Unique experience of love,
Is filtered by the mind,
Profound bonding of
Infinite moments of time.

Dear Geetha, I am sorry for not having read this beautiful poem on love and what love is, i too share the same thought on love and most of my poems are “on love” as you might have noticed, love is the biggest blessing but in disguise, if it is one-sided it hurts more than anything in life, the physical and mental pain both…..lovely poem on love dear, I LOVED your poem…….
