Road- Block

Road Block long poem

Heaps of vehicles huddled together on the road
Like a swarm of flies sitting on Jaggery to taste it
People inside the vehicles are drenched in profused sweat
Like frozen milk pockets as they are out of the Fridge.
A lady beside me frowns over her melting facial make-up
Another in the front seat cries over her box of ice-cream
That drips down to join sea flowing beneath every feet
From some remote spot the rising rotten smell of fish
An excuse for the nausea in me, an inevitable forbearance
An infant shrieks to remind the passengers of its discomfort
School children are gloomy as if they are watching horror–show
The driver of the bus stretched his hands on steering in distress
Of the forgoing commission for no mission in his vision
the whole world is stuck and paralysed as if all are on ‘Strike’
I am astounded to hear a shriek of a pregnant lady in a nearby vehicle
ready to introduce her off-spring to the troubled-world
within no time, a shriek of an instantly born infant
vanished her aggravated pain, it is like a flower bloomed
in muddy pond or a birth of Jesus in the things that fall apart !!!
