A Place To Go

A Place To Go prose poem

Look at your open palms,
Observe the crooked lines.
They decide your journey,
And your final destiny.
Just close your weary eyes,
Allow me to take you away.
Imagination is liberating,
For the ensnared spirit.
Feel the tension seep out,
As cool fingers knead them.
Picture a verdant meadow,
Mottled with sunflowers.
You can hear the gurgling,
Of a little brook nearby.
The scent of wild roses,
Permeate the gentle breeze.
The brilliance of the sun,
Warms your skin to a glow.
The cerulean hue of the sky,
Is spattered with cotton balls.
You are sitting on a patio,
Made of cured pine wood.
The aroma of fresh coffee,
And warm scones envelop you.
Your favorite book lies close,
And soft music wafts around.
Close your eyes once more,
Feel your worries unwind here.
This is your place of bliss,
The escape from your reality.
